Kongsberg NanoAvionics is a leading international New Space Nano and Micro-satellite manufacturer based in Lithuania. NanoAvionics’ team consists of driven, young, smart, and ambitious employees: we have over 70 successful satellite missions and projects under our belt, and keep on counting. We are proud to work with Thales, NASA, ESA, and other industry leaders – and we are willing to share with you the opportunity to be a part of the worldwide space industry!
Our Mission Analysis team is looking for a Mission Analysis Engineer who will contribute to the mission design and development of various nano and microsatellites. In this role, you will be performing mission analysis to verify the mission requirements and providing the best technical solution with regard to constraints introduced by the project scope. You will work closely with the System Engineer, the technical authority of the project, and the interdisciplinary satellite project team.
As Mission Analysis Engineer, you will:
* Control and estimate Technical Budgets (Mass, Power, Data, Link, Delta-V, Energy)
* Perform Mission Analysis (Sensor Coverage, Ground Station Access) using various simulation tools for satellites and small constellations
* Perform Flight Dynamics simulations using STK Pro and/or other tools for satellite orbit correction
* Perform Space Debris requirements compliance analysis
* Perform Reliability Analysis
* Perform technical trade-off studies to drive design decisions of the spacecraft
* Perform ad-hoc technical studies and reports to support in-orbit missions and potential projects
* Ensure that the technical documentation delivered is technically aligned with requirements and top-level design
We expect you to have:
* Technical background, e.g., bachelor’s degree in Aerospace engineering, Physics, or related field – because a strong background makes for a quick start
* Strong critical and analytical thinking capability – to understand what the mission needs and suggest the best technical solutions
* Proficiency with STK Pro, Matlab, DRAMA, and/or equivalent orbital analysis tools – because you will need more than a calculator to analyze space missions
* Fundamental understanding of physical principles and how they apply to real-world problems – because knowledge must be applied to bring about the result
* Strong sense of ownership – because behind every successful space mission, there is someone who cares
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team – because making your own deliverables is not enough to succeed
* Good communication and interpersonal skills are required - because quite a bit of talking and chatting is involved
* Knowledge and experience in Flight Dynamics (formation flying, constellation design) and Python would be an advantage
* A minimum of 1 year of experience is highly preferred, but we welcome motivated candidates who are eager to learn
* You DO NOT BELIEVE in the FLAT Earth – otherwise it may be difficult to explain the flight dynamics
We provide:
* Private health insurance (after probation period)
* One fully compensated volunteering day per year
* Employee referral program
* Opportunity to participate in KONGSBERG annual Share Program
* Team building budget
* Pension scheme
Salary
* Salary starts from £35 000 to £60 000 annually
* The final offer will depend on the level of competencies and experience
