Offer description

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

* Borough: Southwark (Inner London)

* School Status: Good Ofsted All-Through School (4–16 years)

* Ofsted Highlight: Outstanding for Behaviour and Attitudes

* Start Date: ASAP Start – Long-Term Role

* Working Pattern: Thursday and Friday only (Part-Time)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a professional, adaptable, and highly organised School Receptionist to join a vibrant all-through school in Southwark. This is a unique opportunity to work in a setting where behaviour and attitudes are rated as Outstanding, ensuring a respectful and focused environment. As this is a 4–16 setting, you will be the first point of contact for a diverse community, spanning primary and secondary phases. This is a fast-paced, "front-of-house" role that requires a candidate who can maintain a welcoming and professional demeanour under significant pressure.

Core Responsibilities

* Front of House: Managing a high volume of face-to-face enquiries from parents, pupils, and visitors with a calm and authoritative manner.

* Administrative Support: Handling a busy switchboard and managing central school email accounts during peak morning and afternoon periods.

* Safeguarding: Strictly enforcing visitor entry protocols and maintaining the Single Central Record (SCR) in line with statutory requirements.

* Pressure Management: Multi-tasking between administrative duties and immediate front-desk needs in a high-traffic environment.

Requirements & Compensation

* Essential: Previous experience in a school office or a high-pressure reception environment. Proficiency with school MIS systems (e.g., SIMS or Arbor) is highly desirable.

* Salary: Paid on the Inner London local government pay scale (Pro-rata).

* Benefits: A supportive office team and the opportunity to work in a school with an exemplary pupil culture and a "Good" overall Ofsted rating.
