InterimDeputy Assistant Director - HR & OD, for the Greater London Authority(GLA)
Do you want to work within CityHall and be amongst the key players of London politics. We are excitedto be supporting the GLA, to secure a Deputy AssistantDirector of HR & OD, to lead their People Function,providing strategic leadership on all HR and organisationaldevelopment issues.
This role is pivotal in ensuring theworkforce is capable, agile, and equipped to meet their short, medium,and long-term objectives. The successful candidate will beinstrumental in driving our equality, diversity, and inclusion agendaand representing the interests of the GLA, across variouscollaborations and partnerships.
Day toDay of the role:
* Deputise for the AssistantDirector of People Function, leading on all HR and organisationaldevelopment issues - with a a particular focus on EDIB, Capability andResoucing.
* Develop and implement effective people strategies,plans, and policies for long-term organisational development.
* Provide high-level advice and guidance on human resourcesmanagement and organisational development.
* Lead thedevelopment of a cohesive and agile performance-based culture,focusing on talent management and organisational change.
* Develop and implement equalities, diversity, and inclusionpolicies, ensuring the organisation reflects London’s diversepopulation.
* Lead the team responsible for Executiverecruitment and Mayoral board appointments, advising on recruitment,governance, and processes.
* Represent the organisation onhuman resources issues with external bodies, maximising benefitsthrough participation and exchange of ideas.
* Contribute tocorporate management, participating in cross-departmental andorganisational groups and task teams.
* Manage resources inaccordance with policies and ethical standards, and adapt to workflexibly as required.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications:
* Membership of theChartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or equivalentstrategic HR management experience.
* Proven track record ofleading HR and OD functions at a senior level in a high-profile andcomplex organisation.
* Ability to operate in a politicalenvironment and gain credibility with senior stakeholders, includingpoliticians.
* Understanding of the Greater London Authority’swork.
* Experience in developing and delivering staffengagement and organisational development programmes.
* Successful track record in staff management and motivatingteams, especially during organisational change.
* Demonstratedsuccess in developing and leading initiatives to improve workplaceequality, diversity, and inclusion.
* paying a day rate of£327.75 (pre AWR) and an Umbrella rate of £440.90 per day
* Initial 3 month assignment whilst the GLA face a very busytime with the upcoming elections.
* Hybrid role with 50% basedin City Hall, Royal Docks.
