Murray Recruitment are recruiting a detail-oriented Payroll / Accounts Assistant for our client based in North Lanarkshire.
Role Overview:
This is a key opportunity for an experienced Payroll / Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team, supporting the payroll and accounts functions across two businesses. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficient financial processing while contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* End-to-end handling of weekly and monthly payroll processes for two companies.
* Pension administration and liaison with providers.
* Production and control of reports for P32 and PAYE payment requirements.
* Drafting and issuing offer letters and employment contracts.
* Ensuring consistent application of payroll processes and policies.
* Corresponding with HMRC and pension providers on behalf of the company.
* Monitoring and maintaining systems relevant to payroll operations.
* Handling ad-hoc payroll and salary-related administrative tasks.
* Producing daily banking reports and posting related transactions.
* Creating and processing bank payments.
* Maintaining accurate bank reconciliations.
* Controlling and reconciling company credit card transactions.
* Managing and reconciling petty cash.
* Providing additional support to the Group Financial Controller and Management Accountant as required.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a similar payroll/accounts position.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in accounting software (experience with Sage 200 is advantageous).
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
