A well‑established, family‑run lift engineering business is seeking a Lift Service Engineer to join a small, dedicated team covering the Lincolnshire region.
Role Overview
This is a field‑based role focused initially on service and repair of lifts, with the opportunity to progress into installation work over time (with full training provided). You will be fully embedded within a supportive engineering team and work across a variety of sites including commercial buildings, residential properties, schools, and care environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, maintenance and repair of lift systems
* Respond to breakdowns and emergency call‑outs
* Fault‑find and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
* Complete service reports via tablet
* Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards
* Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts
* Support installation work when trained and required
* Work flexibly as part of a responsive engineering team
Hours & Working Pattern
* 40 hours per week (standard hours: 8am – 4pm)
* Reactive work required depending on lift breakdowns
* Flexibility is essential, as call‑outs can vary; time may be given back or adjusted when engineers exceed hours
* Early finishes may be available where workload allows and commitments are met
Salary & Benefits
* £38,000 per year starting salary
* Overtime paid at time and a half (after 10pm) and double time (weekends and bank holidays)
* Company van, phone and tablet provided; tools supplied
* Ongoing training and development and opportunity to progress into installation work

Requirements
* Ideally NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (must be able to demonstrate qualification)
* Strong experience in lift service and repair preferred
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
* Flexible and reactive approach to workload
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Must pass an enhanced DBS check (due to working in schools and with vulnerable people)
