About the Role
We are looking for a LOLER Engineer who will join our team at Faslane, Helensburgh. In this role you shall work alongside the Lead LOLER Engineer and Waterfront Engineering Department, in the delivery of high-quality services to our Ministry of Defence and Navy customers, to ensure customer needs are met.
Who We're Looking For
An individual who will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and assessing a wide range of lifting equipment to ensure it is safe, compliant, and fit for use. Your work will play a key role in maintaining the highest safety standards for our customers, ensuring all equipment performs reliably in demanding environments. An individual with LOLER qualifications or Surface Support Equipment (SSE) experience is preferable. We are looking for someone who can quickly obtain competence to support our endeavours.
What You Will Be Doing
1. Working for the Waterfront Associate Manager (WAM), conduct tasks for the initial and ongoing compliance of lifting equipment which requires Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) certification.
2. Providing advice on equipment configuration and manufacture from a compliance aspect.
3. Attending required facility training and Weapon System training as assigned and directed by a personal training profile.
4. Assisting sections with equipment upgrade implementation as required.
5. Providing technical consultancy, assessment, advice, and support to line management, MOD, and other stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met.
6. Have responsibility for maintaining a working knowledge and understanding of approved Trident documentation, mandatory Health and Safety legislation, acceptance standards and directives to ensure compliance with the Trident Programme and company requirements.
7. Delivering technical training and assisting maintenance of SSE.

Required skills, qualifications and experience
11. An accredited Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) certification such as the “Lifting Equipment General”.
12. Hands on experience and knowledge of Weapons System equipment, particularly the Surface Support Equipment (SSE) that supports the operations at Faslane and Coulport.
13. A good understanding of engineering drawings.
14. Ability to work on own initiative and assist other team members when required.
15. A customer-focussed approach to workload and strong attention to detail.
16. An understanding of the requirement to adhere to applicable documentation within a highly prescriptive environment.
17. The ability to demonstrate IT skills to a competent level and has experience in using Microsoft Office.
Desirable skills
18. Experience inspecting slings, shackles, spreader beams, and bespoke lifting equipment.
19. Driving licence.
