Our GP team at Haydon Bridge and Allendale is experienced and welcoming. We work hard to offer high quality care to our rural and semi-rural community, achieving high scores in patient satisfaction and all areas of QOF. We aim to do this in a supportive way: we all need to discuss cases on occasion (and we do). We would welcome applications from newly qualified GPs, with additional support and mentoring available if needed.
We work hard to keep up to date, with monthly 2 hour in house education meetings, where we all learn from each other. We promote a learning culture and look to learn from new guidance and changes in practice. We also aim to learn when things go wrong, looking for opportunities to reduce the chance of mistakes happening again. All GPs have regular quality improvement and admin time to enable this to happen.
We are a training practice, training GP trainees, year 3 and year 5 medical students and student nurses. All of the GPs in the practice get involved in training and supervision and we all enjoy and learn from it.
General practice is a challenging and interesting place to work. We are doing our best to manage the challenges and to keep the job boundaries and interesting. We think we are doing this pretty well: All of the GPs here enjoy working here, and we think you will too.
As a GP Practice which is part of Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC), we work with flexibility and independently to run the surgery based on what is best for our patients and staff, and additionally we have the regular and consistent support of the management team to help us to focus on what is clinically important.
We work closely with our MDT, with a highly skilled group of practice nurses and a physician's associate working in the practice. We have excellent support from our PCN with pharmacy, community mental health worker support and social prescribing.
As a Salaried GP the post holder will be a key clinician within the team. A job plan will be agreed with you to provide general medical services and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.
Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date if a suitable number of applications have been received.
NPC is a pioneering partnership with local GPs and now manages several GP practices with around 120,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside.
