Vision for Education, a Welsh Government-approved agency based in Cardiff, is currently recruiting for enthusiastic ECTs to work in a cluster of well-supported and welcoming primary schools across Cwmbran. These schools offer excellent mentoring and professional development opportunities, making them ideal placements for newly qualified teachers looking to build classroom confidence.
Positions start in September 2025, and trial days can be arranged before the summer holidays to help you get to know the school community and teaching environment.
Opportunities are available across both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, in a mixture of short-term and longer-term placements.
The role of an ECT Teacher involves:
Delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
Supporting pupils of varying abilities to make progress in their learning
Contributing to planning and marking where appropriate
Managing classroom behaviour with confidence and clarity
Working alongside support staff and school teams to ensure consistency
Becoming an active part of the school where possible
We are looking for ECTs who:
Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK
Are flexible and open to working in different year groups
Are available full-time or part-time, depending on preference
Are confident teaching within Foundation Phase or Key Stage 2
Have strong classroom management skills and a proactive attitude
Are registered, or willing to register, with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – support available
Hold (or are willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
