Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist with a proven track record supporting acutely unwell medical and surgical patients to work in the Virtual Hospital in West Essex. The role involves providing specialist clinical pharmacy support to a multidisciplinary team that accepts referrals from acute hospitals and community providers. You will deliver medicines‑related care, support medication management services, and participate in training and education. This position offers an opportunity to shape services that improve the healthcare experience for the local population and support NHS national priorities.
Main duties of the job
You will forge strong professional relationships with nurses, paramedics, allied health professionals and doctors. The role requires a passion for clinical pharmacy and a genuine drive to help patients, providing practical clinical solutions to enable patients to remain at home or discharge earlier from hospital. You may supervise junior colleagues and will provide responsible pharmacist duties, participate in weekend and bank holiday dispensary rota, on call rota and additional hours within the pharmacy team.
Qualifications and experience
Post holders should be registered with the GPhC, be able to demonstrate clinical credentials, and have experience delivering medicines‑related care to acutely unwell patients. Flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to professional development are essential.
