Main Purpose of the Role

We have a great opportunity to join the Business Support Team at Perth Academy as a Senior Technician.
Responsibilities
* Line manage the Technician and General Assistants.
* Adhere to the Council's Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
* Conduct and review risk assessments in collaboration with Principal Teachers.
* Support all practical faculties/departments with resource management. This will include chemical management and equipment maintenance in Science, cutting and preparing materials (timber, metals and plastics) in Technologies (including routine maintenance and minor repairs of woodwork and metalwork machines), and food handling in Home Economics.
* Provide technical advice to colleagues.
* Support the Council's IT team with device asset management.
* Support, when required, classes with practical lessons.
* As part of this role, you will be working with learners and colleagues every day.
* Operate CCTV.
* Operate and demonstrate use of audio visual equipment to teaching staff.
Skills & Experience Required
You will work well within a team environment but also be able to work well on your own initiative, have good verbal communication skills and be willing to participate in any training relevant to the role.
* Have knowledge and experience of working within a science/technical environment.
* Hold either an SVQ Level 3 or SCQF Level 6 in a science or equivalent qualification.
* Be familiar with COSHH regulations and with the safe handling of chemicals.
You must be adaptable and willing to be involved in school community life and have core values of respect, integrity, safety and equity.
