Service & Commissioning Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery - UK & International Travel - Electrically Biased - North West - £43-47k + van + overtime + site allowances
Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Electrically biased Service & Commissioning Engineer who lives in the North West of England to join a special purpose machine manufacturer.
Responsibilities
* Join a growing team of Service Engineers where you'll be regularly working internationally, with trips typically 1-3 weeks in duration; the Service Manager estimates about a third of your time will be spent abroad.
* Operate as an Electrically biased and Electrically qualified engineer (ONC minimum level).
* Work on customer site installations, commissioning and service for special purpose machinery, and on the shop floor in East Lancashire when not on site.
* Maintain daily logs, delay logs, variation to contract orders, calibration certificates, project completion certificates, breakdown, site service and survey duplicate sheets.
* Provide rapid response quotations for spares and any remedial or extra service work relating to site visits and health checks.
* Coordinate or perform travel between UK and international locations as required.
Qualifications
* Electrical bias with ONC minimum level or equivalent qualification; mechanical knowledge is advantageous.
* First-class communication skills; ability to document and report clearly.
* Knowledge of machinery used in food production environments is useful but not essential.
Benefits & Conditions
* Very well established company with a full order book and potential to grow the role to include PLC software commissioning.
* Travel requirements: international trips typically 1-3 weeks; expect about one third of time abroad.
* Working week is 37 hours; overtime paid at single rate Monday to Friday, x1.5 on Saturdays when working away, and x2 on Sundays and Bank Holidays if working away.
* Company credit card provided and hourly uplift paid for hours worked onsite to cover subsistence.
* Location considerations: role based in the North West; commutable considerations include Manchester and nearby towns such as Oldham, Rochdale, Heywood, Stalybridge, Denton, Burnley, Blackburn, Accrington, Nelson, Bolton and Hebden Bridge.
