We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Harlow, working on a 1:1 basis with a child with Autism (ASD). This is a full-time, long-term position starting immediately. The Role Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism, helping them access the curriculum Implement tailored strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver support in line with the EHCP Use a patient, consistent, and nurturing approach to build trust and engagement Support the child’s social development and independence throughout the school day Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment What We’re Looking For Experience working with children with Autism and/or SEN Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN support techniques Knowledge of tools such as PECS, Makaton, or visual supports (desirable) A calm, resilient, and empathetic personality Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs What’s on Offer Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience) Full-time, long-term opportunity with potential for permanent placement Supportive and welcoming school environment Ongoing guidance and professional development opportunities Why Apply?
