Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker (RSW)

Salary: £11.00 – £16.00 per hour based on shift pattern

As an RSW, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting young people in their daily lives. You will attend to their practical, physical, and emotional needs, acting as a role model and helping them work through difficulties to reach their goals and ambitions.
Some of the duties could include:
* Providing high-quality care and support for children and young people.
* Working within the guidelines from the 1989 Children’s Act, National Minimum Standards, Every Child Matters, and other relevant legislation.
* Creating a nurturing, supportive, and caring environment where children feel safe and secure.
* Establishing positive relationships with children and young people.
* Ensuring care plans are followed and up to date.
* Attending to practical matters related to childcare such as cooking, cleaning, and general maintenance around the home.
* Acting as key worker for young people and children to ensure plans are met and current.
* Providing emotional support during times of difficulty or stress.
* Being ambitious for young people and helping them achieve their goals.
* Supporting their educational needs and extracurricular activities, including classroom support if needed.
* Acting as an advocate at meetings where the young person is discussed.
* Dealing with challenging behaviour.

Minimum skills/requirements:
