Accounts Assistant 4 day week Edinburgh iMultiply is engaged on the position of Accounts Assistant based in Edinburgh. The Company A well-established, medium-sized accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is actively studying towards a recognised qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) and is looking to gain practical experience within a supportive and collaborative environment. Responsibilities Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Production of VAT returns and management accounts. Perform bookkeeping duties using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Dext. Liaise with clients to gather records and provide updates on progress. Assist senior team members with ad-hoc tasks and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Continue to develop technical skills and accounting knowledge through hands-on experience and study support. Candidate Profile Be actively studying towards ACCA, ACA, or equivalent. Have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a professional accountancy practice. Possess a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles. Demonstrate proficiency in cloud accounting platforms (experience with Xero or QuickBooks is desirable). Be detail-oriented, organised, and capable of managing deadlines. Communicate effectively and work well with both clients and colleagues. Show a proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and development.
