Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: UK
Hours: 39 hrs per week – Sun–Wed 10pm–6am, Thu 10pm–5am
Salary: Up to £45000
Overview:
An experienced Maintenance Engineer is required to support a high-volume manufacturing operation. The role focuses on minimising downtime, delivering planned preventative maintenance, and enhancing machinery reliability across the site.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out breakdown repairs and planned maintenance, recording and reporting issues or trends.

Provide mechanical and electrical fault-finding support across the plant.
*
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to promote best practice and improve reliability.
*
Work towards departmental KPIs relating to performance, efficiency, and safety.
*
Support emergency breakdowns, including potential call-outs when required.
*
Use relevant tools, measuring equipment, and safe working techniques at all times.
*
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
*
Install new parts, overhaul equipment, and replace components as required.
*
Keep production teams updated on work progress and machine status.
*
Conduct routine checks, lubrication, and cleaning of machinery.
Qualifications & Experience:
*
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
*
17th Edition qualification (preferred).
*
Experience in one or more of the following: robot/welding cells, plastic injection, plastic extrusion, press machinery, rolling mills.
*
PLC I/O knowledge.
*
Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
*
Ability to read engineering drawings.
*
Strong communication and organisational skills.
*
Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied workload.
*
MEWP experience (advantageous).
*
Time-served background highly desirable.
