The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the Pontefract Urology Investigations Unit. This is a fast paced busy investigations unit, based at Pontefract with a requirement to work Trustwide. The unit runs clinics from 8:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday. Management element for nursing and CSW staff.
Main duties of the job
SPC and urethral catheter change
Urethral catheter insertions
Flow rate clinics
Teaching ISC
Working along side specialist consultants
Clinical preparation and assisting with procedures
Staff management
Clinic management
Stock ordering and monitor
Running specialist clinics, monitoring and planning immuno-therapy and chemotherapy regimes
Job responsibilities
Registered Adult/General nurse with active NMC registrations
First level (Honours) degree or willing to undertake
Good back ground experience in Urology
Evidence of continued professional development
post registration experience at band 5 in Urology
Multi-professional working
Teaching/ training
Working autonomously
Awareness of own limitations.
Understand the national specialty and professional agenda
IT literate
Teaching, assessment and presentation skills
Organisation and negotiation skills
Flexible attitude to working
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Ability to deal with complex and difficult emotional situations
