Overview
Postdoctoral Neuroscientist position at Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford, focusing on closed‑loop brain stimulation to enhance memory and develop therapies for disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Responsibilities
* Design, execute and analyse state‑of‑the‑art close‑loop stimulation experiments in awake rodent models, with emphasis on memory circuits.
* Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and partners to deliver the research programme and contribute to grant applications.
* Develop novel closed‑loop stimulation devices and publish high‑quality research in leading international journals.
* Work closely with internal and external collaborators, contributing to research strategy.
Qualifications
* PhD (or MD) in a relevant discipline.
* Advanced expertise in rodent electrophysiology in cognitive or motor behavioural paradigms and data analysis.
* Experience in memory and/or brain stimulation research is desirable.
Employment terms
Full‑time, fixed term (minimum 3 years, part‑time 0.8 FTE possible). Salary £39,424 to £47,779 (Grade 7 per annum). Less experienced candidates may be appointed at Grade 6 (£35,681‑£41,636 per annum) with adjustments in criteria or duties.
