Your newpanyThis international financial services organisation operates across more than 50 countries, providing credit insurance, surety, debt collection and business intelligence services to a diverse global client base. In order to further fortify the existing legal function, they are seeking to recruit a Legal Counsel in Cardiff. You will join a well‑established Group Legal &pliance function made up of legal professionals based across Europe, Asia and the United States. The team partners closely with the wider business to strengthen long‑term performance, providing high‑quality legal andpliance advice within a robust risk‑management framework. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative, multinational legal team. This position offers meaningful exposure to cross‑border legal work within aplex, global organisation.
Your new roleAs Legal Counsel, you will provide expert guidance on a broad range of English law matters. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will:
1. Advise on contract law, insurance law and regulatory matters
2. Support the business with litigation cases as required
3. Liaise with and manage external legal advisers
4. Contribute to legal strategy using a risk‑based, solutions‑focused approach
5. Work closely with international colleagues across multiple jurisdictions
What you’ll need to succeedYou will thrive in this role if you bring:
6. 3–5 years’mercial experience as a practising lawyer or in‑house legal counsel
7. Qualification to practise law in the United Kingdom
8. Strong verbal reasoning,munication, drafting and negotiation skills
9. A professional, detail‑driven and quality‑focused approach
10. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
11. A structured mindset, strong analytical skills and eagerness to learn
12. An international outlook
13. (Experience in insurance law is desirable but not essential)
