Position:
Become a Vocational Studies Technician at our new school, Red Kite School, part of Acorn Education, and start working towards your career goals.
* Location: Red Kite School, Buckinghamshire, HP27 0JW
* Salary: £24,500 per annum (full amount before tax, not pro-rata)
* Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm
* Type: Permanent, Term Time Only
Red Kite is a new independent special educational needs school catering for up to 60 pupils with social and emotional health needs.

The Opportunity:
Under the guidance of the Secondary/Vocational Leader, provide support to staff and students, ensuring smooth operation of the faculty, including organizing, preparing, cleaning, and maintaining materials and resources, and supporting teachers practically in the classroom.
Contribute to the smooth running of practical activities in vocational subjects, ensuring health and safety compliance in those areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with displaying pupils' work.
* Organize and prepare classroom and ICT resources according to lesson plans and assist pupils with their use.
* Maintain workshop equipment, tools, ICT, and ensure safety checks, cleaning, and repairs, following risk assessments and regulations.
* Retrieve, clean, and store materials and equipment used in various areas, including kitchens and science labs.
* Ensure workshops and classrooms are tidy, organized, and equipment is stored safely and accessibly.
* Handle storage and disposal of equipment, materials, and waste safely and legally.
* Assist in preparing materials and equipment for lessons in various subjects.
* Help with stock checking and recording, and keep records of machinery maintenance.
* Support in assembling teaching materials and operate heavy machinery safely after training.
* Support pupils during practical activities, setting up machinery and equipment as needed.
* Provide clerical and administrative support as required.
* Follow policies on child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting concerns appropriately.
* Contribute positively to the school ethos and attend meetings, training, and activities.
* Assist with trips and out-of-school activities.
Applicants should have GCSE C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with some experience working with SEN and within a school setting.
