The project:
Work is moving rapidly into the mechanical, electrical, and HVAC (MEH) install phase. The client team, including Mace representatives, will be required to provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the contract delivery partners as part of an integrated team delivering large standalone scopes of work worth multi-millions, ensuring full effective coordination at the project level.

Responsible for managing the construction delivery of MEP services on projects to meet outcomes related to time, budget, safety, and quality. Delivers high-quality, efficient, and profitable delivery, ensuring compliance, governance, and assurance. Builds and maintains relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to support successful delivery.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Managing the construction of MEP services as part of the project team, reporting to the project lead, and ensuring compliance with Mace standards.
* Overseeing the construction aspects of MEP services, managing site environment, programme, health, safety & wellbeing, quality, and commissioning.
* Coordinating with key project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, trade contractors, and other team leaders.
* Reviewing programmes with trade specialists, monitoring productivity, identifying issues or risks, and ensuring schedule adherence using digital technologies.
* Ensuring quality assurance processes are followed, and high standards of installation are maintained.
* Implementing delivery strategies and programmes to meet key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, logistics, and work sequencing.
* Managing commissioning strategies in line with Mace standards, including IST approach, ATPs, and soft landings.
* Overseeing project close-out, ensuring all elements such as commissioning, as-built drawings, and QA/Snagging are completed to a high standard.
* Proactively identifying risks and developing mitigation plans.
* Working collaboratively towards net zero carbon goals, managing associated emissions and reductions during delivery.
You’ll need to have:
* Proficient knowledge of a technical trade (e.g., building services engineering), including installation and testing methods, best practices, and prefabrication.
* Basic knowledge of other technical trades, installation techniques, and coordination requirements.
* Basic understanding of construction build elements, sequencing, and dependencies.
* Basic knowledge of commercial management to support the commercial teams.
* Proficiency in planning processes, critical path management, scheduling, and commissioning activities.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and welfare standards, including working at height, electrical safety, fire safety, logistics, and lifting.
* Experience with quality assurance and system commissioning.
* Basic knowledge of digital setting out and scanning technologies.
* Proven track record delivering projects over £5m+ MEP value.
* Experience in the construction sector and successful project contributions.
* Proficiency in building services or engineering disciplines.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Innovative, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
* Ability to operate under pressure and make decisions confidently.
* Skills in setting objectives, self-motivation, resource management, and relationship building.
* Trade/technical engineering apprenticeship, SMSTS, and CSCS card.
You’ll also have:
* Understanding of the commissioning process, BMS functionality, and IST.
* Accreditation with CIBSE, IET, IMechE, SoPHE, CIOB.
* Understanding of strategic business goals and strong presentation skills.
* Analytical skills—numerical, statistical, and detailed writing.
* Ability to influence and guide others.
* Formal engineering or construction training (HNC, HND, BTEC, or equivalent).
