Impulse Technician
Salary: £35k - £40k p/a D.O.E – Full Time, Permanent
Location: Based at our head office in Morpeth, Northumberland.
We are looking for an experienced Technician who is able to provide support across a variety of work scopes within the oil and gas industry.

Main Duties:
In this key role, you’ll be responsible for:
· Supporting engineering and operations personnel to establish and document test procedures and work instructions
· The safe operation of all equipment at the worksite in accordance with relevant QHSE policies and procedures
· Working with The Impulse Group and/or customer equipment either Offshore or Onshore, independently or with supervision
· Setup of test equipment and rigs, including development of bespoke apparatus to suit testing requirements
· Supporting engineering and operations personnel with maintenance and continuous improvement of equipment through recommended process and/or product improvements
· Performance of factory acceptance test (FAT) operations on The Impulse Group and/or customer equipment
· Performance of a range of testing activities focused on integrity of flexible pipe
· Coordinating the work scopes allocated by lead engineers and managers
· Proactively upholding relationships with customers and suppliers.
· Using technical knowledge and expertise to develop new products and systems
What We’re Looking For (Essential):
· A skilled Technician with proven experience in the oil and gas or related industry, including experience of hydrostatic testing and annulus testing of flexible pipes
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
· Flexible approach to working, willingness to accept changing priorities
· Good understanding of, and adherence to, the highest standard of health & safety in the work environment
· Comfortable working on their own or part of a team
· Hands on experience in a mechanical role
Skills (Essential)
· Strong attention to detail
· Analytical and problem-solving ability
· Excellent organisational and communication skills, capable of liaising with internal / external customers and suppliers
· Basic Torque/Tensioning capabilities (MJI10,18 & 19)
· Pressure testing experience
· Willingness to travel to customer sites locally or globally, sometimes at short notice.
Desirable:
· Previous Experience with flexible pipe risers and annulus test kits would be a major advantage for this role.
· Small Bore Tubing Experience (ECITB SBT01)
* Machine shop tooling competencies eg. turning, drilling, milling grinding etc.
* Basic Offshore Certification.
Qualifications:
* A qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
