West Yorkshire Police is looking to appoint six Prosecution Team Administrators to provide an efficient and effective administrative service to the department in accordance with policy and legislation within the prosecution team.
Role and responsibilities:
You will be responsible for providing support and assistance to operational officers and staff in the transmission of case files to CPS. You will access, input, track and extract data/information from various Force computer systems, ensuring effective, accurate and timely service delivery in accordance with force policy, procedures and legislation.
To succeed in this role, you will be expected to:
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues & partner agencies
• Work confidently with force systems & documentation requirements
• Accurately interpret and apply legislation, national guidance and criminal justice procedures
• Prioritise and manage your workload to meet statutory and mandated deadlines
• Work independently and collaboratively within a busy Criminal Justice environment
• Handle sensitive, confidential or distressing material with professionalism, integrity and resilience
Essential Criteria:
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and willingness to learn force IT systems
• Basic knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and partner agencies (desirable but not essential)
• Flexibility to work hours that meet departmental needs
• Willingness and ability to travel for work purposes
• Ability to deal with material of an explicit or disturbing nature
