Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an SEMH provision seeking a skilled and compassionate Youth Worker to join their team as a Teaching Assistant from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Youth Worker looking to use their skills supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) in an educational setting.
About the Role:
You will support young people with SEMH needs by providing behaviour intervention, emotional support, and helping them engage with learning. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you'll contribute to a positive, nurturing environment that encourages growth and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs
* Assist in implementing behaviour and learning support plans
* Use your experience in youth work to build positive relationships and support emotional wellbeing
* Promote positive behaviour and social skills development
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external agencies to support student progress
* Monitor and record behavioural and emotional developments
Who We're Looking For:
* Experience working as a Youth Worker or in a similar role supporting young people
* Understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies
* Excellent communication, patience, and empathy
* Ability to work effectively in a team and remain calm in challenging situations
* Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, behaviour support, or education (desirable but not essential)
