ABOUT US
Fether Labs
is building wristbands that redefine human–computer interaction. With a flick, a pinch, or a squeeze, any gesture can be programmed into a seamless command. From the mouse to the touchscreen to what has always been most natural—our hands—we're creating the next evolution of control.
At the heart of our product is a proprietary sensor technology invented at Imperial College London. Our sensors are fundamentally different – they're not electrodes (sEMG) and IMUs – they will allow us to create a natural, precise, and expansive set of interactions.
We are
Jacques
,
Michael
, and
James
—technical co-founders from
Imperial College London
. We are building a team to redefine how humans interact with technology. If you're interested in joining us, please apply; and if you have any questions, contact James at

THE ROLE
We're looking for an ambitious Software Engineer to create our developer platform.
You'll design software development kits (SDKs) and application programming interfaces (APIs), ship integrations for platforms such as Unity and Snap Lens Studio (as examples, not limits), and produce clear docs. You'll also work with customer dev teams to gather feedback. Work with cloud or local (WebSocket/BLE) paths are in scope.
Key responsibilities
* Build and maintain SDKs and plugins (e.g., Unity/C#, Lens Studio/JS, plus other engines/mobile/web).
* Define and version APIs and publish packages with samples and docs.
* Run continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and quality gates for SDK releases.
* Support customer integrations and turn feedback into roadmap updates.
* Collaborate with the Hardware Team to provide a seamless integration of hardware and software.
* Engage in research and development activities to explore new products and product features.
Essentials (these are minimum requirements)
* Proven experience with developing a public SDK or developer-facing API.
* Strong C# (Unity), JS/TS (Lens Studio), Python.
* Clear technical writing and customer-facing communication.
* CI/CD and automated testing for SDKs.
* Snap Lens Studio or other AR engine experience.
* Flexibility to take on many different roles, as needed in a fast-growth startup company.
Desirables (we do not expect you to have all of these)
* Mobile SDKs (iOS/Android) and packaging.
* Expertise in firmware engineering.
What We Offer
* The opportunity to lead software integration in a fast-growing tech startup.
* We have invented a proprietary sensor that you will have exclusive access to build products for.
* Exposure to the full product lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing.
* £40,000 to £60,000 + Equity Package
