The Oncology division is looking for a forward thinking Clinical Oncology Locum Consultant to join the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust to provide Gastro-intestinal expertise to the Oncology division.
This is a fixed-term 10PA post for 12 months based at the Royal Surrey Hospital, with clinical commitments at our outreach partner at the Ashford and St Peters Hospital, Surrey. This role will offer Chemotherapy, plus Radiotherapy expertise for these patients.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide Oncology expertise in the management and treatment of patients with Upper and Lower GI Tumours,
2. To be part of the MDT and clinical team
3. To be part of the radiotherapy MDT and clinical team
4. To play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for Oncology
5. To provide cover for fellow Consultant colleagues in respect of periods of leave and organise leave in conjunction of Consultant colleagues according to Oncology department policy.
6. To take part in medical audit and research as appropriate.
7. To provide expertise for patients, participate in the local MDTs and training programmes
8. To participate in clinical trials as appropriate, in co-operation with the Alliance Research Lead
9. To ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.
10. To participate in CME and audit projects as appropriate
11. Full registration and a license to practice with the GMC
12. MBBS or equivalent
13. Higher medical qualification
14. CPD - Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
15. Broad oncology experience in a variety of tumor sites
16. Relevant experience of management of Oncological emergencies
