We are excited to be recruiting for a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to join our team. The position will report to the Commercial Director, no direct reports, however there is scope to grow the Business Development team.
This is a hybrid opportunity working from IPRS Aeromed Gatwick HQ/ Home Based. Extensive travel to client premises, industry events and service delivery locations will be required.
A full driving licence and own transport required.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER will work under the SLT to deliver the strategic development plan and personally execute the agreed plan to drive our ambition to become a leading UK healthcare provider in secure custody and other settings.
To design, develop, and maintain a pipeline of new revenue streams that support the budgeted EBITDA growth of the business. This includes leading business wins from new clients and supporting the SLT with organic growth opportunities from existing clients.
To manage leads from identification through the bid process to contract award. This will involve identifying opportunities in new markets (public and private sectors) and influencing innovation projects within IPRS Aeromed to improve the volume and quality of bids pursued.
Build solid market intelligence and develop relationships that deliver opportunities to create new revenue streams, staying attuned to the evolving demands of the industry. Seek out suitable acquisition prospects.
To actively contribute to SMT meetings supporting the Managing Director in managing and meeting the expectations set by the handl Board.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development:
Research the UK Healthcare Market and identify prospects for adjacent opportunities or new non-adjacent services that may involve setting up new business lines.
Creation, prioritisation and maintenance of the BD plan and pipeline of bid opportunities.
Lead business proposals, and sales presentations.
Plan and prioritise sales activity and prospect engagement to support delivery of agreed commercial objectives.
Analyse market developments, competitor activity, and industry news.
Identify and build relationships with Commissioners and other key decision makers / stakeholders.
Proactively research new business opportunities including NHS/ Government Frameworks and various tender portals to feed into the sales pipeline.
Provide accurate and timely pipeline reporting for monthly Business Development progress reviews.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development activity and ensure continuous improvement against targets.
Ensure CRM platforms are consistently maintained and updated in line with business standards.
Monitor, respond to, and follow up on new business enquiries promptly keeping SLT up to date with developments.
Keep up to date with the changing UK Healthcare landscape, legislative changes and NHS initiatives/ challenges to ensure the business is well placed to react and manage change or exploit new opportunities.
Marketing:
Work closely with Marketing to raise brand awareness and positioning in our target and wider markets.
Ensure our services, expertise and USP's are compelling and consistent across all agreed media channels. Provide regular on-line posts of interest and thought leadership.
Oversee the creation and development of electronic and physical marketing materials to support industry events and conferences.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar senior business development and sales role, preferably in a blue-chip organisation.
A demonstrable track record of organic and new business wins is essential.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in the UK Healthcare market, ideally with background in primary healthcare/ healthcare in secure custody settings.
Ideally has previous experience of setting up a new business development function within a clinical services provider.
Ideally brings a developed network of influencers / stakeholders in healthcare markets.
Experience in facing off to senior prospective client stakeholders demonstrating savvy commercial know-how, strategic thinking and sales acumen.
Extensive experience of the end-to-end sales or procurement process including interrogation of Frameworks and Bid Portals, analysing gaps to new service requirements and value propositions, constructing
suitable service TOM and pricing models, overseeing/ writing bids, leading commercial contract negotiations and supporting implementation and on-boarding.
Understanding of integration in multi-disciplinary healthcare settings, and the scope of practice of each healthcare professional. Knowledge of EPR platforms is useful.
Good knowledge of the typical patient journey, best practice clinical service delivery in front-line/ peripatetic environments, and general principles of clinical governance policies and procedures.
Experience of looking beyond obvious adjacent prospects and identifying new healthcare service opportunities in more diverse and emerging markets, particularly in the private sector.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A graduate level or similar business qualification is desirable.

Skilled in creating and presenting slick and compelling sales propositions that promote key win themes.
Strong understanding of all operating costs associated with differing service lines and skilled in competitively pricing bids.
Ability to comfortably network and build profitable relationships with key stakeholders in healthcare.
Skilled in identifying client's challenges, their aspirations and collaboration opportunities and to innovate solutions that deliver tangible wins for all parties.
Ability to make decisions under pressure, utilising pragmatic, logical and sometimes lateral thinking.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
