We are an Independently owned & managed Hotel with 80 guestrooms; one part of the hotel building is historically linked to Grahamston Village of 1680. The hotel has been extended over the years and is very well maintained. The hotel has a small team of approx. 20 long serving employees, the longest serving almost 30 years, we pride ourselves in retaining our team and creating an environment that provides job security & safety, working comfort, time flexibility, autonomy, and we recognize our employees are all still human and therefore mistakes shall be a part of our learning & development programmes at the hotel. The Skilled Housekeeping Supervisor will have a small team of 5 to 7 skilled & unskilled housekeeping assistants, shall oversee the day-to-day work done by the team, performing inspections and hiring activities, while ensuring a hands-on floor on daily routine cleaning of hotel premises.
We are looking to hire a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our existing team. Our hotel premises are being used as a Homeless Shelter providing temporary accommodation for vulnerable service users who are awaiting permanent accommodation.
You will work as part of a close team by:
* assisting in giving the very best service,
* contributing to the smooth operation, teamwork and department targets
* working closely with Management team, Duty Managers & Maintainence staff
As a housekeeping supervisor your role is to provide operational support to the team and Head Housekeeper in an energetic, timely and precise manner. You will support the team with a range of duties including the distribution of linens, general and deep cleaning duties, making and changing rooms, packing luggage, etc.

Responsibilities
* Supervise daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas meet the hotel's quality standards.
* Coordinate and schedule cleaning staff shifts, delegating tasks efficiently.
* Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and safety compliance.
* Train new team members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and service user expectations.
* Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
* Address guest concerns related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
* Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, performance, and training activities.
* Enforce health and safety regulations within the housekeeping department.
Skills
* Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or hospitality environments, with a strong understanding of industry standards.
* Previous janitorial experience is highly desirable.
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills to manage a team effectively.
* Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
* Good communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with staff and guests alike.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the hotel operations.
