We are supporting the hire of an Accounts Payable Supervisor, a key role within the UK finance function, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payables process while leading and developing a small team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, internationally backed business where you can add real value, drive improvements, and take ownership of a critical finance function.
The Role
Working closely with the CFO and wider finance team, you will take ownership of the accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong supplier relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payments, and expenses
* Overseeing month-end close activities across the purchase ledger
* Leading supplier reconciliations and resolving invoice discrepancies
* Managing intercompany transactions and overseas payments
* Supervising and developing a small AP team (2 direct reports)
* Driving performance through KPI tracking (processing times, accuracy, SLAs)
* Ensuring timely and accurate supplier payments
* Supporting statutory reporting related to the payables function
What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience within Accounts Payable, ideally in a supervisory or team lead capacity
* Solid understanding of accounting processes and controls
* Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving complex queries
* SAP experience highly desirable
* Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
* A proactive, organised approach with the ability to drive process improvements
* Confident communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally
