Job description
Quantity Surveyor
Our client, a leading company in the Power Utilities and Energy sector, is currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with expertise in Quantity Surveying, QS, and NEC contracts, looking to make a significant impact in the field of Power Distribution.
Projects are across North Scotland and Shetland Island and whilst there is an expectation to site visit, flexible working arrangement is in place.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing and administrating NEC contracts (3 and 4) with values ranging from £10k to £2m
2. Reporting to finance and contributing to financial oversight
3. Mentoring and providing peer reviews for Graduate QS/Trainee Quantity Surveyors
4. Conducting site measures and site visits as required
5. Ensuring accurate and timely cost reporting and forecasting
6. Collaborating closely with project managers to ensure effective project delivery
7. Maintaining robust commercial control of projects
8. Engaging with stakeholders to fulfil project objectives
Job Requirements:
9. Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
10. Experience in administering NEC 3/4 contracts
11. Understanding of Utilities and Civil Engineering sectors
12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
14. Proficiency in cost management and report writing
15. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
16. Flexibility to work remotely with occasional office visits
Benefits:
17. Paying up to £60,000 per annum
18. 25 days plus Bank Holidays
19. Company car or car allowance £5.5k
20. Monday to Friday 40hrs per week
