Description
We are seeking a skilled XYZ Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating lathes to produce precision components according to engineering specifications, ranging from one-offs to small batch quantities.
Responsibilities
* Operate XYZ lathes for turning, facing, boring, drilling
* Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine methods and dimensions
* Use precision measuring tools (Micrometers, gauges etc.)
* Perform self-inspections and in-process checks
* Follow health and safety protocols and wear required PPE
* Work with supervisors to resolve production issues
Skills & Qualifications
* Experience: Previous experience in CNC Turning operation and working to fine tolerances
Experience of XYZ ProtoTrax SLX 425/555 would be advantageous.
Previous manual turning experience could be beneficial.
* Technical Skills:
* Proficient in conventional machining and tooling
* Knowledge of various materials (metals, plastics)
* Drawing Interpretation: Able to read engineering drawings
* Measurement Proficiency: Skilled in using precision instruments
* Attention to Detail: Methodical and quality-focused
* Problem-Solving: Able to troubleshoot machinery and process issues
* Independence: Capable of working with minimal supervision

Mon-Thurs 7:30 till 4:00
Friday 7:30 till 1:30
