The Role: Electrical Maintenance Shift Engineer (Shift Technician)
You’ll play a key role in the smooth, safe and efficient operation of a state-of-the-art data center environment. You will ensure the reliability of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure through proactive maintenance, testing and real-time issue resolution.
What You’ll Be Doing
Driving safety, efficiency and high-performance culture across the site
Making sure all operations meet industry standards and statutory requirements
Planning and delivering maintenance and repair tasks, including managing specialist subcontractors
Responding to incidents, troubleshooting issues and providing on-call support where required
Keeping detailed records of all work completed, identifying improvements and implementing effective solutions
Supporting and guiding more junior engineers, helping to build a strong and capable team
Demonstrating advanced technical capability across electrical and mechanical systems
Writing and reviewing operating procedures and assisting with critical maintenance/change planning
What You’ll Bring
Experience in mission-critical environments (data centres, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, banking, etc.)
Technical training or education in Electrical, Mechanical or HVAC engineering
Strong skills in maintaining systems such as:
High & Low Voltage distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators
Chillers, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers, pumps, pipework
BMS systems for monitoring and control
Preferably trained in electrical switching & isolation procedures
Good computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability and willingness to work shifts in a 24/7 operation
A proactive, customer-focused mindset with great attention to detail
Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
A hands-on, solution-driven approach
