What You’ll Be Accountable For
* Setting and delivering the Business Unit strategy – develop, implement and champion a clear BU plan aligned to brand strategy, ensuring strong engagement across internal teams and trade partners.
* Driving sales, margin and inventory performance – own sales, GP, stock and GMROI outcomes through effective pricing, promotional strategies, ranging decisions and supplier negotiations.
* Leading end‑to‑end range management – oversee category planning, range reviews and new product development, ensuring delivery from concept through to in‑store execution within OTB parameters.
* Owning promotional excellence – lead promotional planning, funding negotiations and execution, partnering closely with Marketing and eCommerce to ensure accurate, compelling customer offers across all channels.
* Building and leading a high‑performing team – develop talent through coaching, succession planning and performance leadership, fostering a diverse, engaged and customer‑centric culture.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven merchandise leadership experience – 5+ years’ experience as a Buyer, Category Manager or equivalent, with demonstrated success managing sales, margin, stock and inventory turn.
* Strategic and commercial capability – strong ability to develop BU strategies that translate into tangible commercial outcomes in a fast‑paced retail environment.
* Exceptional stakeholder and supplier management – a track record of building mutually beneficial trade partner relationships and influencing senior internal stakeholders.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills – confident presenter and negotiator with highly developed interpersonal skills and a sharp customer focus.
* Resilient, adaptable and solutions‑focused – comfortable navigating complexity, anticipating roadblocks and delivering results under pressure.
