Job Description
* Manage and develop the core Finance Team of 5, setting their objectives, and overseeing all day-to-day activities
* Assist the Senior Finance Manager with statutory and management accounts, whilst also monitoring and improving the robustness of the financial processes and controls.
* Responsible for preparing the month-end processes ensuring costs and income suitably accrued, prepaid, or deferred as appropriate.
* Prepare accurate VAT returns for multiple companies
* Manage external relationships (HMRC, Pension, Auditors) playing a key role in the year end statutory reporting and audits for multiple companies.
* Managing and continually improving departmental reporting and analysis, working with managers to understand the results and drive improvement.
* Develop a strong working relationship with the key stakeholders of the businesses as well as a commercial understanding of the businesses, playing a key role in improving financial performance.
The Successful Applicant
* Newly qualified CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
* Previous people management experience and driving performance.
* Proactive in continuous process improvements and system enhancements.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
* Proficient user of finance software. (Sage 200, Xero is advantageous)
* Strong analytical, decision-making, and management skills.
* Experience in a multi-company environment with cost accounting experience is well sought after.
