Overview
Join to apply for the Creative Arts Technician role at Lighthouse Schools Partnership.
The School: Gordano School, part of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership, is a large and successful 11-18 comprehensive secondary school approximately eight miles outside Bristol. Our school includes a thriving Sixth Form of nearly 400 students that is strongly integrated into the life of the school and offers significant opportunities for sixth form teaching in over 30 courses. We are the sole secondary school serving the popular town of Portishead and benefit greatly from being a central part of our community.
We view education as something bigger than just academic achievement. We have a record of considerable academic success but wholly believe a student\'s education should be about preparing young people for their future lives, developing key skills and behaviours that set them up for a successful future pathway. We emphasise opportunities including student leadership, an extensive extra-curricular programme and clear progression guidance.
We pride ourselves on high-quality support for colleagues through internal and external CPD, including membership of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership. Staff have access to development opportunities across schools in the Trust and bespoke training such as NPQ programmes. We support Initial Teacher Training and deliver a comprehensive ECT induction with partners. Our large staff body provides regular progression into leadership roles.
Importantly, beyond the wider experiences for students, we seek to be a happy school community with a big heart, guided by our core principles: Dream big, do your best, give back, fostering kindness and respect.
