About the Role:
As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles.
Your Responsibilities:
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements
* Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping
* Utilise accounting software Sage for efficient financial management.
* Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheets to ensure accuracy
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative work environment
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analysing variances to inform strategic planning
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial practices align with organisational goals
* Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices within the industry
* Manage the year end closure process
* Oversee the quarterly VAT returns
Experience:
* Proficient in accounting software including Sage
* Strong understanding of financial services and financial management principles
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting
* Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members effectively
* Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial accounting standards
* Strong communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
