Job Description The Role Are you an experienced CNC Machinist looking for a new challenge? Would you feel confident operating Milling Machines and producing machined components to a production plan? Do you think you can do this in a safe and efficient manner, within the planned production time and to the required quality? If so, this may be the role for you Machines used: Waldrich, Emsil, Forestline Language used: Heidenhain, Fanuc and Siemens A day in the life of a CNC Machinist… Setting, programming and operating CNC milling machines Accurately follow route card instructions and reading of engineering drawings. Use measuring equipment to ensure ongoing quality of components. Identify and load the correct tools for the job and change their inserts. Use of Dial Test Indicator (DTI) clock for probing and setting up the job. Setup whole range of jobs required on machine. Use of overhead cranes will be required periodically. Crane training would be an advantage but training can/will be provided. Load, edit and back up programmes into the machine, ensuring that the machine is programmed with the correct data for the process required for each rail. Competent in the use of grinders, and other power tools along with templates\ gauges Self-inspection of parts produced, resolving non-conformance issues Work in harmony with others in team to achieve production timelines Train new operatives as and when required. Ensure that safety requirements are met and work in accordance with the company’s procedures and legislation. Wearing of correct PPE and housekeeping. Reporting of accidents and ‘near miss’ incidents in accordance with procedures. Communicate with the second shift via the shift log book and at shift changeover. Ensure quality standards are met and improved on wherever possible. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.
