About the Role: Join Trinity House as a Deputy Service Manager to support the Service Manager in delivering the highest standards of care to our 50 residents. The role requires strong leadership, a commitment to quality care and alignment with the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote and maintain high standards of care, ensuring residents' physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs are met.
* Participate in admission, assessment and care planning, with regular reviews.
* Maintain accurate, secure, confidential care records.
* Organise and oversee daily activities and therapeutic programmes.
* Handle complaints efficiently and report them as necessary.
* Support quality assurance initiatives for continual service improvement.
* Assist in budget management and maintain high occupancy levels.
* Act as Service Manager in their absence, attending meetings and reporting on operations.
* Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and RQIA regulations.
* Oversee staff supervision, appraisals, recruitment and disciplinary procedures.
* Promote a positive, team‑focused working environment.
* Identify and support staff training needs, including induction, QCF and dementia training.
* Liaise with families, medical professionals and external agencies.
* Oversee medication management, stock levels and ordering.
* Assist with staff rota planning and timesheet verification.
* Ensure health and safety standards are met and report maintenance issues.
Christian Ethos
* Lead or assist with daily devotions within the home.
* Ensure pastoral care and worship opportunities for all residents.
* Communicate the Christian faith through actions and interactions.
What We Are Looking For
* Experience in a senior care role with leadership responsibilities.
* Strong understanding of residential care standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ability to manage and support a team, fostering a positive environment.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Commitment to the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
Required Criteria
* Minimum NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care (or equivalent).
* Knowledge of legal responsibilities and standards for person‑centred service delivery.
* Understanding of current health and social services for residents with additional needs.
* Computer skills – Word processing and e‑mail.
* Experience in planning, developing and implementing care programmes.
* Minimum 3 years recent experience with older people or those with disabilities in a regulated service.
* Experience ordering, receiving and administering medication.
* Experience liaising with RQIA.
* Experience supervising staff for at least 1 year.
* Experience managing residents with dementia or challenging behaviour.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including on‑call night, weekends and sleep‑in.
* Will maintain registration with the appropriate professional body (e.g., NISCC or NMC).
* Current criminal record check (Satisfactory Access NI check).
Desired Criteria
* Recognised professional qualification (RNMH, RGN, RSCN, RMN, Social Work, OT, Physiotherapy or equivalent).
* Experience using Microsoft Office.
* Experience preparing staff rotas and timesheets.
* Experience in quality assurance monitoring.
* Experience in staff recruitment and selection.
* Experience in formal staff supervision and appraisal procedures.
* Access to a car for work purposes.
* Evidence of personal Christian faith and active church membership.
