Role Title
Lecturer in Skills for Adults / Community Learning
Location
Wrexham and Flintshire, across several campus and Community provision
Contract and Working Hours
Permanent, Part time (80% FTE, 29.6 hours per week)
Salary
£33,596 – £51,932 (full‑time salary, pro rata depending on working pattern). Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine.
Responsibilities
* Schedule and deliver teaching sessions, prepare learning materials and mark student work.
* Liaise with awarding bodies, arrange exam invigilation and support students’ safety and welfare.
* Produce documentation such as registers, schemes of work, records of work, course reviews, course analyses, student reports and absence reports.
* Provide educational guidance and support for student success, with a passion for teaching and learning.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed or PGCE) or current pursuit of a Level 5 qualification.
* Educated to a minimum Level 4 qualification.
* Demonstrated understanding of current developments within your specialist area and strategies for keeping up to date.
* Knowledge of a broad range of learning needs and how to support these within a learning environment.
* Experience teaching and supporting young people with extensive barriers to learning.
Welsh Language
Welsh skills are desirable for this post. Candidates who can help grow bilingual provision and service are encouraged. Application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than one submitted in English.

The role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order and is classed as a regulated activity, requiring an Enhanced DBS check with Barred List check, and disclosure of all cautions and convictions. Applicants barred from working with children will not be considered. Risk assessment may be carried out; convictions/cautions may be deemed unsuitable.
Depending on the position, successful candidates may need to register with the Education Workforce Council.
