Adult and Older People’s Service
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our well-established Adult Community Team, which delivers services to achieve the best outcomes for a variety of people over the age of 18 who have care and support needs. We are looking for a Social worker who is highly motivated, to join our expanding Adult Community Teams.
This post provides a fantastic opportunity to work for Newcastle City Council at a very exciting time for us. We have recently adjusted our focus to work with individuals within their own localities across the city. The workers in these teams have the opportunity to build and maintain working relationships with the people, their carers and the services in their area.
We are specifically looking for a Social Worker to be part of our under 65’s team. The under 65’s team are an established team working withing 3 conversation approach. The aim to bring the people we work with, better opportunities and to help connect them with their neighbourhood.
It is essential that you have a Social work qualification and have a clear understanding of the Care Act and the Local Authorities Statutory Duties.
The role involves recognising, valuing and building on the strengths of individuals, communities, associations and services that strengthen relationships and connect people together. We want to provide people with better opportunities, improve their wellbeing and connect them with their neighbourhoods.
The successful applicant will need to be a dynamic, innovative and committed person, willing to consider all possible options, working with external stakeholders, people and their families, as well as colleagues within the Local authority.

If you are successful, we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s).
