This is a key role within Swansea Bay University Health Board GP Out of Hours Service, supporting and accountable to the Services Manager OOH/111 in ensuring the delivery of high quality services that meet national and local quality and performance standards.
The post holder will work as a member of the SBUHB GP OOH Operational Management Team and will act independently, within organisational policies and exercise discretion to achieve the aims and objectives of their work programme.
The post holder will be responsible to the Assistant Operational Lead for the day to day clinical operational management of the service, and develop sound operational and working arrangements that will enable delivery of quality and performance targets. This will include complex planning and the formulation of rota and adjustments to scheduled appointments as required. This will also include working with the Clinical and Operational Management Teams to deliver on key targets for the service.
The post holder will support all directly employed operational administrative staff and promote a working environment in which individuals feel valued and can work effectively.
Main duties of the job
To support the Services Manager OOH/111 and Assistant Operational Lead in enabling the delivery of clinical services provided by the SBUHB GP OOH service to ensure the provision of high quality patient care within the resources available and that continuously meet quality and performance standards.
To work in partnership with NWIS and software providers to maintain and improve information systems accurately record activity and performance of the service at the Health Board and practice level.
To create and interpret reports using computer software that will allow services to be evaluated including mapping of staff and clinical capacity and demand to inform working patterns.
To provide information and support to sessional GPs.
To be responsible for maintaining accurate records for all sessional GPs providing GMS services for the OOH service including evidence of inclusion on the Medical Performers List, GMC registration and the Medical Defence Organisation membership
To contribute towards the delivery of excellent teamwork and robust management systems, that deliver efficient and effective support for the provision of a 24/7 clinical service.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
