Job Purpose:

To provide personalised, practical, and work-focused support to an employee in receipt of Access to Work funding, enabling them to overcome workplace barriers related to disability, neurodivergence, or long-term health conditions.

The role is designed to support the employee to:

* Understand and carry out their job role effectively as an administrator
* Develop sustainable work routines
* Build confidence and independence
* Maintain successful long-term employment

Support will be delivered in accordance with the agreed recommendations outlined by the Access to Work assessment and in collaboration with the employer and employee.

Key Responsibilities:

Workplace Task Support

* Provide structured one-to-one workplace support as agreed within the Access to Work award.
* Assist the employee to understand job tasks, instructions, and expectations.
* Break down complex tasks into manageable steps.
* Support planning, organisation, prioritisation, and time management.
* Assist with establishing and maintaining effective work routines.

Cognitive / Executive Functioning Support

* Support memory, concentration, and task initiation where required.
* Provide prompts or strategies to manage workload demands.
* Assist with adapting to changes in tasks or schedules.
* Support the development of coping strategies to manage workplace stressors.

Communication & Social Interaction Support

* Facilitate effective communication between the employee and managers or colleagues where required.
* Support the employee in preparing for and participating in meetings, training, supervision sessions and performance reviews.
* Assist with interpreting workplace expectations or feedback where appropriate.

Workplace Integration

* Support the employee to develop confidence in the workplace environment.
* Assist with understanding workplace culture, policies, and procedures.
* Support navigation of workplace systems and processes.

Independence & Skills Development

* Encourage independence by using a structured "fade-out" approach to support.
* Support the employee to develop self-management strategies.
* Monitor progress towards increased autonomy in role-related tasks.

Employer Liaison

* Work collaboratively with the employee's line manager to support agreed workplace adjustments.
* Provide general feedback regarding support strategies (with employee consent).
* Assist in implementing recommendations from the Access to Work assessment.

Record Keeping & Review

* Maintain accurate records of support sessions in line with Access to Work requirements.
* Contribute to progress reviews or reassessments where required.
* Ensure confidentiality and professional boundaries are maintained at all times.

Person Specification

Essential:

* Experience supporting individuals in a workplace or employability setting.
* Understanding of disability-inclusive employment practices.
* Ability to provide structured, task-focused support.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to promote independence and avoid over-reliance on support.
* Experience with planning, organisation, or executive functioning strategies.
* Competent IT skills for reporting and documentation.

Desirable:

* Experience supporting neurodivergent individuals (e.g. autism, ADHD).
* Knowledge of supported employment models.
* Understanding of reasonable adjustments in employment settings.
* Relevant qualification in health & social care, education, or employment support.
* Experience working within Access to Work funded support arrangements.

Other Requirements:

* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 16.5 per week
