Investment Assistant

Capital International (Jersey Limited) is excited to announce an opportunity to join our dynamic investment management team as an Investment Assistant. This role offers the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career in client and investment management, providing hands-on experience of vital functions such as our oversight investment service, ongoing case maintenance, and general administrative tasks in support of both our operations and investment teams. With exposure to a broad spectrum of investment management responsibilities and ample scope for professional growth, this position is ideal for candidates eager to launch a successful and rewarding career in the industry.

What you’ll do:

Investment oversight service

1. Maintaining the schedule of cases and ensuring reporting is delivered in a timely manner
2. Establishing client structure in a core investment system (Tercero)
3. Monitoring receipt of relevant periodic reporting data from underlying asset managers
4. Coordinating relevant security set ups
5. Running and auditing performance
6. Generating reports and doing an initial review
7. Collaborating with our lead relationship manager to solve any problems that arise
8. Review of routines to maximise efficiencies, through use of in-house systems
9. Drafting thoughtful and tailored commentary for review by relationship manager

Assist the broader team with general aspects of administration, including:

10. Data collation for regulatory reporting
11. Operational support for middle office and investment team
12. Assisting the investment team with quarter end reporting processes for clients
13. Fund and strategy fact sheet preparation
14. Collating and sending performance data to external gatekeepers

Perform a variety of client focused administrative tasks

15. Assist with various Anti-Money Laundering (AML) tasks which will include scheduled periodic file reviews for clients & intermediaries
16. Investigate unexplained client transactions and manage daily exception reporting
17. Document and track client-related actions
18. Communicate with clients to request important documentation
19. Ensure record keeping and data integrity is up to date and accurate

22. Keen eye for detail - Maintain a sharp focus when reviewing documents and completing tasks to ensure precision and accuracy
23. Effective time management - Prioritise tasks effectively and manage deadlines efficiently in a dynamic environment
24. Clear communicator - Deliver information precisely, both in writing and verbally, adapting your approach to suit different audiences
25. Collaborative team player - Be a reliable and supportive member of the team, willing to share ideas and work together to achieve goals
26. Technological proficiency - Comfortable with MS Office, particularly Excel; training will be provided where needed to enhance your technical skills
