We have an exciting opportunity within the Sexual Health and Community Women’s Services for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 5 Team Leader to support the day-to-day operational management of the Administration Team.

As the post-holder, you will take a proactive role in coordinating and managing service activity, ensuring efficient service delivery across Sexual Health and Community Women’s Services. You will be an effective team player with excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, capable of managing your own workload as well as supporting and prioritising the workloads of others. You will have the ability to motivate and lead the team to meet service demands and tight deadlines, alongside maintaining a strong understanding of RTT and patient pathway management.

You will be responsible for overseeing key administrative functions essential to service reporting, including outpatient activity monitoring, data accuracy, and performance reporting. Excellent IT skills are essential to manage daily service enquiries, patient bookings, and electronic systems efficiently and accurately.

The role also includes supporting the Information Governance agenda, ensuring compliance with confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, and monitoring staff training requirements in line with Trust policies.

Main duties of the job

This role is to manage overall operations of the department and is responsible for the effective and successful management of clinic operations. Ensure all processes are in place to run the day-to-day operations smoothly and effectively and that patient expectations are met.

Essential criteria

1. GCSE, A Level or equivalent in English and Maths
2. A good communication
3. Ability to use Microsoft Office and other systems required

Experience

Essential criteria

4. A proven record of being able to work within set timeframes working to priorities and deadlines.

Desirable criteria

5. Supervisory or office management experience

Knowledge

Essential criteria

6. Knowledge of national targets with respect to patient pathway.
7. A sound knowledge and demonstrable competence re: 18-week referral to treatment rules.

Skills

8. Highly developed communication skills with experience of dealing with patient anxiety in a reassuring manner
9. An ability to communicate professionally at all levels
10. Proactive with the ability to use own initiative
11. Able to present a positive image of oneself and the service
12. Ability to self-reflect, carry out tasks and identify what is needed to perform better within the role
