Your role:
At Wesleyan, we are dedicated to putting customers at the heart of what we do. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Research Manager to join our dynamic team. If you have a knack for uncovering valuable insights and influencing strategic decisions, this role is perfect for you!
As a Research Manager, you will be at the forefront of our market research efforts, responsible for both ongoing and ad-hoc research activities. Your insights will shape key initiatives across the group, including proposition development, customer experience, and strategy. You will manage research projects from start to finish, ensuring that actionable insights are delivered clearly and concisely, influencing decisions at all levels of the organisation.
The Insight Team’s mission is to ensure the voice of the customer is heard throughout the business, enabling better, more informed decisions to be made.
You will be required to deliver high quality in-house primary research, using our existing online research platform, as well as effectively managing third-party research suppliers. You will also be required to provide market and competitor insight, delivered primarily through secondary desk research.
What you’ll be doing:
* Leading Research Projects: Manage internal and external customer research projects using our in-house survey system and third-party providers.
* Delivering Actionable Insights: Identify and communicate clear customer insights, uncovering the 'so what' actions that drive meaningful change. Challenge the status quo and think commercially.
* Engaging Stakeholders: Present concepts and ideas to senior stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner, enabling informed decision-making.
* Driving Improvement: Be the go-to expert for customer research and improvement, providing valuable insights and support to various business teams.
* Project Management: Develop and implement clear delivery plans for research projects, focusing on both customer and commercial outcomes.
* Supplier Management: Assist in managing third-party research agencies, ensuring strong supplier management and proactive cost control.
* Collaborative Insight: Work closely with the rest of the Insight team to balance customer, market, and competitor insights, ensuring decisions are insight-led.
* Building Relationships: Cultivate and maintain key relationships across the Group, influencing at all levels.
* Leadership Support: Be prepared to deputise for the Insight Manager and fulfil reasonable requests from senior leadership.
* Research Expertise: Primary and secondary research experience, with a solid understanding of market research principles and methodologies. A Market Research-focused qualification is a plus.
* Supplier Management: Excellent skills in managing suppliers and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
* Stakeholder Influence: Strong ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Interpersonal Skills: Professional, team-oriented work ethic with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Financial Services Knowledge: Understanding of financial services products and processes, and knowledge of the wider financial services market and key competitors.
* Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and drive impactful decisions.
* Curious Mindset: We’re looking for someone with genuine curiosity about how our customers think, feel and behave, who thinks deeply about the right questions to ask and loves delving into survey data.
