Consultant Dermatologist – Paediatrics

The successful candidate will be based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant, and spend time at Princess of Wales Hospital and Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda. They will provide an average of seven clinical sessions per week across outpatient, ward and subspecialty sessions, with protected time for audit, research and teaching.
Responsibilities
* Ensure effective communication processes with all clinical stakeholders, ensuring they are aware of the range of services, standards, and evidence base.
* Help stakeholders understand the service vision and its implications on practice.
* Facilitate stakeholder contribution to planning and evaluation of services.
* Work in close cooperation with clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues to provide high‑quality healthcare.
* Provide first‑class clinical service and lead all staff in the specialty.
* Sustain and develop teaching and research activities.
* Adhere to Health Board procedures, contractual requirements and service plans.
* Contribute to business planning and strategic development of the dermatology service.
* Participate in the clinical directorate structure and support department functioning in line with strategic plans.
* Travel between hospitals/clinics as necessary.
Qualification & Experience
* Full GMC registration.
* Appropriate higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent).
* Paediatric dermatology experience.
* Experience within the NHS and as a locum consultant.
* Sub‑specialisation and special interests within dermatology.
* Proven clinical ability to a high standard, including audit participation.
* Good organisational and communication skills, written and verbal.
* Ability to produce and implement evidence‑based guidelines and protocols.
