Protocol Education is working alongside a specialist primary provision in Sunderland seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex communication needs.
The school provides a highly structured and nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop independence, communication, and life skills.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Assisting with personalised learning programmes
* Supporting sensory regulation and communication strategies
* Encouraging independence throughout the school day
* Supporting social and emotional development
* Assisting with personal care where required
* Working closely with teachers, therapists and families
Working Hours:
* Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
* Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Requirements:
* Level 3 qualification desirable
* Experience supporting SEND pupils preferred
* Positive, patient and resilient attitude
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply and pay for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
