Our Test & Evaluation team are looking for a V&V Systems Engineering Specialist to operate with a high‑level of technical responsibility for the entire lifecycle of our product, ranging from design and development to qualification and deployment. A specialist will bridge the gap between design and production, ensuring that complex, high‑reliability systems meet our requirements.
Responsibilities
* Define test strategy and develop test plans, ensuring requirements are understood and delivered efficiently.
* Lead or support qualification and acceptance of test equipment, ensuring robustness, compliance and accuracy.
* Analyze test data to identify performance bottlenecks and resolve validation issues.
* Produce technical documentation (test procedures, reports) and enforce safety and regulatory compliance.
* Support departmental strategy and assist the head of department in recruiting the right talent.
* Influence senior stakeholders on technical direction.
* Provide technical leadership for all test‑related issues across design projects, including Test Equipment specification.
* Support new product bid activities.
* Identify, document and deploy best practice across the department and projects.
Qualifications
* Strong technical knowledge of electronics or mechanical systems; degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
* Hands‑on experience with general‑purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
* Knowledge of safety‑critical standards (aerospace, defence, rail) and industry best practices.
* Ability to communicate within multi‑disciplinary teams and liaise with customers on system acceptance.
* Experience with DOORS / DOORS NG, SysML & Rhapsody (training provided if needed).
* Experience in Design for Test (DfT) and testability.
* RF / Microwave systems knowledge is desirable.
* Security clearance: British citizen or dual UK national; BPSS required post‑offer.
Compensation & Benefits
* Salary up to £65,000, depending on experience.
