A successful and established company in Kidlington is seeking a motivated individual with experience in Transport operations to support our Operations Manager as a Supervisor in overseeing and enhancing the operational effectiveness of the business.
You will be involved in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, problem solving, managing staff, and implementing strategies to improve productivity and quality. This role requires good leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
Duties
To support the Operations Manager in the execution of his role, helping to ensure operational effectiveness, efficiency and adherence to company policies.
To help problem solve as required to address operational issues as they arise.
To assist in the line management of 30 plus staff, including assisting in disciplinary processes where necessary
To assist in compliance with health and safety regulations across the site to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
To assist in overseeing and managing the driver infringements process
To investigate and manage insurance claims across the bus fleet
To manage bus bodywork damage repair
To undertake pre/post hire spot checks on bus standards, including compliance
To support the Transport Manager as needed
To assist the Parts and Service Manager as needed
To manage breakdowns as required
To have responsibility for installing and maintaining working bus camera systems (training provided)
To make 'check in' calls to key clients during and post hires
Being First Point of Contact (FPOC) for software issues (training provided)
To deliver/support systems training where needed
To quality control of work undertaken by the teams (where appropriate)
To manage the provision of clean bus linen & laundry for our bus fleet with line management of 2 members of staffSkills
Good leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage.
Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Good problem-solving abilities, capable of making informed decisions under pressure.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Good numeracy, as well as good written and spoken English
Proficiency in using operational management software and tools.
Experience
Proven experience working in operations, ideally with experience in the transport sector
Line management in an operational environment, ideally with experience in the transport sector
IT competent (Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Word and XL)
Administration systems - familiarity with digital platforms and ideally, experience using vehicle and fleet management software and tools
Logistics and planning - experience in organising complex activities involving multiple stakeholders, departments and locations
Health and safety management qualifications - desirable or willing to work towardsExcellent team environment and location, 40 hours, working Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm, competitive salary is offered and further ongoing training provided
