Imperial College London seeks Clinical Associate Professor/Professor in Inflammation to join the Department of Immunology and Inflammation within the Faculty of Medicine. Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for the post of Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor in Inflammation (clinical or non-clinical) to join the Centre for Inflammatory Disease, Department of Immunology and Inflammation within the Faculty of Medicine. You will also be required to contribute to the administration within the Department. You will have a track record of successfully securing research grants, high-quality research publication and experience in teaching. You will be expected to broaden the Department\'s research capabilities, while complementing our existing strengths.
What we are looking for
* Full GMC (General Medical Council) registration or eligibility for registration within 6 months of the date of the appointment
* Appropriate specialist qualification or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the appointment
* A national/international reputation and expertise in the field of inflammation or immunology or related area commensurate with the grade
* An ability to raise significant research funding from a variety of sources, commensurate with your career stage
* A proven track record in conducting high quality independent research, as evidenced by high quality publications in peer reviewed journals
* Experience of supervision of higher degrees (PhD, MD(Res))
* Experience of supervising medical staff, if relevant
* Appropriate level of clinical knowledge, if relevant
* Understanding of clinical risk management, if relevant
* Experience of developing skills in leading, motivating, developing and managing the performance of colleagues
* An effective communicator, conveying ideas and concepts clearly and effectively to a range of audiences through a variety of methods and media
* Evidence of expertise in an appropriate field

Salary and terms
Salary: Assistant Professor (non-clinical): £70,718 - £80,148 per annum; Associate Professor (non-clinical): £82,969 per annum; Professor (non-clinical): £94,829 per annum. Clinical Academic scale: £109,724 to £145,477 per annum plus London Weighting of £2,162 per annum

Qualifications

* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of appointment
* Portfolio Pathway/CESR applicants must be on the Specialist Register at the point of application
* The post-holder should hold the membership of the relevant Royal College (UK) or an equivalent qualification
Experience
