The opportunity
Our client is currently looking for an experienced Senior Control, Electrical & Instrumentation (CE&I) Engineer to join our Front-End Definition (FED) team in Warrington. Working under the guidance of the FED Team Engineering Leads, you will play a key role in delivering CE&I work scopes within the SFM and Remediation Enabling Projects Portfolio, including the HALES and FED workstreams.
The role
You will take technical ownership of detailed design and execution support, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the timely delivery of CE&I outputs in line with project cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
Security Clearance: Current security clearance required (Need to be eligible to gain security clearance)
This role is Inside IR35, 12 months+
Your duties and responsibilities will be
* Lead and deliver CE&I design packages across front-end and execution phases of projects.
* Support the definition, development, and design of electrical distribution systems and safety-related CE&I systems.
* Provide oversight, checking, and assurance of work produced by junior team members.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and internal engineering procedures.
* Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, project stakeholders, and engineering leads.
* Maintain high-quality documentation and technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
* Apply sound engineering judgment to ensure safe, practical, and cost-effective design solutions.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
* Strong leadership behaviours with the ability to drive timely CE&I engineering delivery in line with agreed cost, quality, and schedule targets.
* Demonstrated experience delivering engineering work for complex, regulated projects.
* Proven experience in the design, specification, and implementation of:
* Electrical supply distribution systems in accordance with BS 7671
* UPS systems and Motor Drives
* Small Power systems
* Mechanical Handling Systems and/or Cranes
* Process Instrumentation
* Safety systems designed to BS EN 61508 or equivalent high-integrity standard.
It's great if you also have the following
* Experience working on front-end definition phases of the project lifecycle.
* Familiarity with CE/UKCA marking requirements and machinery safety standards.
* Experience in the design of radiometric and special instruments (e.g., Gamma Monitors, Activity-in-Air Monitors, Criticality Incident Detection systems).
* Experience with protective security systems, including CCTV, intruder detection, and access control.
* Design and specification of programmable electronic systems, such as SCADA and PES.
The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
